Hey guys!

I was thinking on building a custom watercooling loop in my pc.
My build: NZXT s340, Asrock z97 extreme 4, i7 4790k, Gigabyte G1 gaming 980ti, Thermaltake paris 650w gold.
I'm doing this because I want to overclock my GPU further (not necessarily the CPU), but mainly because I want to have a silent and awesome looking piece of hardware.
Is this a good idea, given the fact that the case is small and can't fit alot of radiators?
I was thinking on placing a 280mm radiator in the front and a 120mm in the back of the case (also an 140mm exaust on top, not enough room for a radiator though). Is this enough for cooling the CPU and the overclocked GPU without having noise issues?
I already have 3 140mm and 2 120mm thermaltake high static pressure riing fans (because they look stunning).
Also can you advise me on which radiators are the best (thickness, fpi, noise...)?

Thanks in advance!

Hi

That will be fine. I'am doing a custom loop with pretty much the same radiator space. But the parts are different. A 280 just about fits but beware that it can only be a certain thickness. I have an XSPC EX280 on the front. The fans must be on the front of the case, you can have them on the radiator but only the back. They must be touching the front of the case, not the radiator. You cannot have the radiator there otherwise it clashes with the front IO ports. I also have a 120mm on the back. This will be enough cooling for another GPU, without overclocks. But with OC's it will be fine.

The recommended minimum for that would be a 240mm radiator for the whole system, or 2x120mm radiators. You will essentially have between a...

Hi

That will be fine. I'am doing a custom loop with pretty much the same radiator space. But the parts are different. A 280 just about fits but beware that it can only be a certain thickness.

You will essentially have between a 120-140mm radiator of extra room for Overclocking. The thickness of the radiator is up to around 35mm, my XSPC is 35.5 and that fits. And a fan is usually about 25mm in thickness. Alphacool do these, so do XSPC, and I think that EK's slim one is about 30mm, but you will have to check that.

It all comes down to preference when choosing a radiator though. The FPI varies from radiators, so you will have to look that up, but if you want a quiet system, go for a medium FPI so that your fans can go on a lower speed, meaning lower noise.

Feel free to ask me any questions that you may have.

No problem! I just finished my loop, but your's should run a lot cooler due to you having a 980Ti, whereas I have a GTX 780 Lightning, so not the coolest or newest card.
