I habe dell optiplex 3020mt have 290w smps n i want to replace it with 600w of smps but dell technical support team is saying i cant increase watts otherwise it will crash n plus motherboard have only 8pin power pin what should i do i need help

Solution
I'm pretty sure that they were talking about components on MB (like CPU, fans etc.) and MB that can't supply enough power, otherwise they failed physics 101 in school !!! The main question is why do you need more powerful PSU.

Countmike its already fitted 290w but i m going to fit 600w of smps so it will fine or motherboard will burn. Dell technical support saying it will burn motherboard it cant handle more then 290w

Power supply could be any size you want, it's the parts that draw as much power as they need. MB may not be able to handle enough power for CPU or PCIe slot (75W).
That's like saying that light bulb would burn because gets power from hydro electric plant that makes mega and gigawatts but that is obviously not happening.
If you need more power because of a GPU that requires separate power input, it's not overloading MB but draws power directly from PSU.
