Computer not detecting 1TB Seagate Hard Disk

Hello,

1TB Seagate external hard drive suddenly stopped working after my sister injected it into her computer and it was unable to detect it. Subsequently, I tried it on three different computers to see whether the issue was just with her computer: Mac, Asus and HP (including mine, which the hard disk has always worked with)

To my disappointment, all of them no longer displays the hard disk on My Computer. I suppose the device is not completely hopeless yet seeing that there's no error that says it's unrecognized?

There's still that beeping sound that comes with the hard disk being recognized by the computer and the hard disk's light still lights up when I do so. I can still choose to eject the hard disk from 'Open Devices and Printers', but clicking on the eject option prompts this message, 'Windows is unable to stop the device 'USB Attached SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device'. Don't remove this device while it is still in use. Close any programs using this device and then remove it--even though I can't even see the hard disk's folder anywhere, let alone access it.

I also checked the Disk Management to check whether my Hard Disk is there, as suggested by other answers I found on the forum, and unfortunately I do not see my hard disk there.

There are some important documents stored in this hard disk that I don't really want to lose, so is there any possible solutions for my issue?

Thank you!!

Hi there Tan___,

As the device is recognized by Device Manager but not Disk Management, there is a possibility that only the enclosure is recognized but not the HDD inside. In that case, you will not be able to even access the drive with software tools. Yet, it will not hurt to try that.(HDD testing tools, data recovery ones)
You can start the troubleshooting process with just attaching the drive with a different cable to another system. In case the issue persists, you can:
- Just RMA the drive if under warranty.
- In case the data stored on it is crucial, you can contact a data recovery company.
- Some users take the drive out of the enclosure in similar cases. Keep in mind that this will void the warranty. Also, it will not work in...
