If you've connected the optical disk drive the right way, i.e to an available SATA port on your motherboard, then the OS should have taken care of the drivers which in essence are generic drivers. I've owned 4 in the past and on plugged into a system that was running on X at the time and the device was detected without an issue. Please check in your
Device Manager to see if the drive has been installed and just requires you to find the drive in my computer.
Try and reinstall your chipset drivers and see if the issue is averted. You can likewise
