Hey people so i want to make a custom pc and i found out that i can use parts from my pre-built computer but i also want to add more parts and i was wondering how many fans i would need if i'm not using liquid cooling. The pc is gonna have 2TB of memory, 40 gigs of ram (the 8 i have and an an additional 32), i have the GTX 750 and im planning on getting the GTX 980 in the future (i don't have enough money atm xD) and i have a 6th gen core intel i7 processor. The case im getting is the thermaltake versa N21.

My questions are:
How many fans do i need?
Is the case big enough/ too big?

Sorry for the long post, your help would be very much appreciated

You can only buy as many fans as your case can support the mounts for. And you have to have the size of the fans match the size of the mounts. If it has say 1 x 200mm front, and 2 x 140mm top fans, then that's the most you should buy.

There is a 120mm exhaust installed. I recommend getting one or two 120mm for intake.

But there might be a problem with your RAM. I would say dump the 8 gigs and only use the 32GB kit, of two reasons: My guess is, that your motherboard only supports 4 sticks, and i assume the 32GB kit is a kit of 4 sticks, so there might be a problem there. Second (if the first reason didn't do it): RAM in prebuilds will often not work with other brands of RAM and the speed might be different, so there is a big chance of a problem there

Good luck with your build
