Can't shutdown computer?

Hi , i have windows x pro 32 bit and since i used an advanced driver program , to update all my drives , since then when i shut down my computer it just stays there "windows is shutting down" but im still able to move my mouse ,but nothing happens..

Help?

try a system restore. To open the utility, go to your System Tools group under Accessories in your Programs menu. Then click on the System Restore icon. Restore from a point created before you ran the driver tool
