My build has ran with no issues since Feb 2014, until the day before Christmas... I booted her up this morning and heard my fans rpm spike. Then within 30sec it shut down down, so I booted up the bios and monitored the temp and it was resting at 86c redlining. I shut down let the cpu cool off and turned it back on to verify all the fans were working, at first I thought my CM Nepton 280L pump failed. I couldn't find an RPM reading in the fan speeds under bios, so I bought I cheapo air cooler. Still had the same issue so I thought maybe it was to weak to handle the CPU and bought a CM V8 GTS. Hard as hell to install but I got it in and booted up, bam still redlining. I made sure XMP profile was off, and reset the bios to factory and still the same issue. Next I updated the bios back and still the same issue, now I just uninstalled everything and about to reassemble with the original radiator i had. Im completely lost on this one, any help would be helpful!

I was able to get to the desktop and open up HWmonitor and all the cores say 90 degrees. I reapplied the thermal coating several times and still no joy.

That was my first thought, as I did swap out the cooler for two others and still the cpu overheats. The pump is connected to a regular fan header if connected to the cpu fan header it gives a cpu fan error. I hear and feel the pump working.

They can be adjusted for various modes of operation; which ones are available for the header where the fan is connected? As an example, I checked an Asus motherboard and it provides the following modes: Standard, Silent and Turbo; in this case Turbo would provide optimal cooling.

Ok I have a p79x Deluxe and have the same fan speed options. Also I plugged the 280L into CHAfan1 and it reads no RPM. Then swapped it too CHAfan3 and still reads no RPM but it can still feel and hear it running. All fans are set to normal.

Everything is set to turbo but the CPU is still overheating.

I can see that the CPU is overclocked to 4130 MHz, but that isn't enough to cause the overheating issue. The same picture shows Total memory 8GB and two 8GB modules; that doesn't seem correct. Did you install 8 or 16 GB of memory?

The pictures don't show which chassis header is used and the ones that I can see are set to Standard. At this point I'd presume the motherboard or the CPU may have failed, but first reset the BIOS to the default settings. If that doesn't help, then you'll have to RMA the motherboard or the CPU.

I haven't overclocked the cpu that's weird, I have 32gb[8 each] of Ram installed. I'll reset bios and get more pics.
