Hi Guys,
my first post, hope i'm posting it in the right category

I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p mini tower PC that contains the following slots:

1x PCIE X16 (Main slot for graphics)
1x PCIE X1
1x PCIE X16 (X4, Secondary graphics)

previously used a single graphics under the main X16 slot and the near PCIE X1 slot for WIFI (D-Link DWA-548) - all worked with great harmony.
I've recently upgraded my graphics card for one that has a dual slot thickness and now I can't install my WIFI card in the PCIE x1 slot as there is no space for it at all...
so I've installed the WIFI card on the second PCIE X16 (X4) slot below, the WIFI card is recognized in device manager with yellow exclamation mark and no matter what I do it can't accept it's own driver, either the one that was already installed or even after uninstall and re installation..

could it be that the secondary PCIE X16 (X4) slot should only use for graphics?
do you have any suggestions on how to make the OS speak with the WIFI card as previously did?

TIA
G

A PCIe slot is a PCIe slot irrespective of it being of 16 lanes or down to only one lane electrically/physically. The issue can simply be your OS refusing to recognize the device. Can you please pass on your OS as well as the upgrades you've performed? Are you running off of Windows 10 or a previous version of Windows? Have you tried installing your drivers with an elevated command, i.e, right click installer>run as administrator?

When in Device Manger, remove the device with the yellow exclamation mark and attempt to install the drivers as stated above.

Or you could just get one of these riser cards and set it back to the way things were.
