Have you tried reinstalling the driver for it? Shouldn't be needed, but try anyway.
Or:
1. The cable is loose, either power or data
2. The motherboard port is faulty
3. The power cable from the PSU is faulty
4. The drive is actually dead

Okay so I just checked the device manager and my disk drive isn't detected there, so I havnt had a chance to reinstall the driver, there is a device under the "Other Devices" Tab, although it says its a USB Controller.
I made sure the cable was pushed in (both) , motherboard is fine, and I doubt the drive is dead due to me using it a few hours ago.
The last thing I can remember doing was a CCleaner scan with the addon "CEEnhacner" (adds some extra ways to clean junk out your pc (Temp files, history, cache ect)
