My Disk Drive isnt detected!

My TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224DB ATA Device isn't detected in device manager and on the computer page only my C drive shows up, also when I click to open my disk drive it dosent open, any suggestions?

Try this:

Power off
Disconnect the cables for the DVD drive
Power up, and let Windows finish loading
Power off
Reconnect the DVD cables
Power on. It should, if everything works, detect the DVD and dredge up whatever drivers it needs

Have you tried reinstalling the driver for it? Shouldn't be needed, but try anyway.

Or:
1. The cable is loose, either power or data
2. The motherboard port is faulty
3. The power cable from the PSU is faulty
4. The drive is actually dead


What was the last thing you did before this happened?

Okay so I just checked the device manager and my disk drive isn't detected there, so I havnt had a chance to reinstall the driver, there is a device under the "Other Devices" Tab, although it says its a USB Controller.

I made sure the cable was pushed in (both) , motherboard is fine, and I doubt the drive is dead due to me using it a few hours ago.
The last thing I can remember doing was a CCleaner scan with the addon "CEEnhacner" (adds some extra ways to clean junk out your pc (Temp files, history, cache ect)

Also accidently selected you as a solution, haven't found one yet :/
