I've updated my ASUS Z170-A BIOS to the latest version 1302 from the release 0504. All was well and good, but after I tried to activate my XMP profile - it failed to overclock.

I'm running 16Gb DDR4 2666MHz Crucial Ballistix Elite (BLE2C8G4D26AFEA) (2x8Gb KIT), and it worked OK on the stock firmware.

Any suggestions? What could be the issue here? Maybe do it manually? I've never overclocked my memory though. Any advise would help.

Thanks.

When ever you do a bios firmware update to complete the process you must manually reset your bios back to its factory default settings to flush any old information out of the bios.
And to complete a refresh of set levels of it.

The Xmp feature should then work after this procedure.

It was reseted during the update process. It even said that on the screen, if i'm not mistaken. So when I entered the BIOS after the update, the profile was disabled.
