Can I install a better graphics card on my Aspire 8950G?

Solution

The Graphics card is an MXM II module, which plugs in to the laptop mother board. To replace it you need to remove the heat pipe cooler assembly and get new heat pads for the graphics chip and memory chips or you will burn out the card after reassembly (and make sure you don't block up the cooler assembly air exhaust and inlet ports or that will stop it working too. I've seen some 9600m based modules on sale on eBay, marked as usable on the 8950m, but can not say if they will actually work; some MXM cards can be oversize and will not fit.
