I've been thru all reviews (most of the reviews are 3~5 months ago) . Most people will choose Asus mobo over MSI. So im here to ask, which is the best motherboard brand for the new Intel Skylake cpu?

Solution
Asus makes the best quality motherboards on the world. Asrock is the 2nd in the world. Msi is 3rd and gigabyte is 4th. every brand takes the chipset and put it on customized boards. asus is the best on doing that as long as they add special overclocking features along with nice looks! maximus viii hero is one to go for 1151!

There really isn't a best, though that really depends on who you ask. :)

Most manufacturers make a range of boards, capable of great performance based on the use case. It's important to take current and future upgrades in mind (so if you're going to RAID m.2 drives, that will drive your choices), or if you are going to tweak for performance (mild-medium overclocking) or if you're going to bust out the liquid nitrogen for hitting your personal best.....that will drive choices too.

Overall, what does your budget look like? What hardware do you have you could reuse, and how will you be using the machine primarily?

With this revelation:

I would recommend going for a Z motherboard, even though you're not buying a 'K' processor. You don't need to get a top-of-the-line one with that processor, as you won't be taking overclocking to the extreme, but almost any one with a m.2 slot will do. Do focus on getting a good PSU with your gaming computer:

Tier 1 or 2 would be appropriate for a gaming machine. If you thought about SLI in the future, then getting a PSU now able to handle it will make that a drop-in upgrade, so would take that into consideration.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($198.99 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($32.50 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI Z170A PC MATE ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($118.75 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: SeaSonic EVO Edition 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($89.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $530.22
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Any of those Z boards will require a BIOS update to unlock that capability though, so make sure to have a flash drive on hand to be able to 'flash' the BIOS (rather than from inside the OS via utility).
