Very High End PC getting Very Low FPS

I need major help, I have an intel i7 CPU and a Nvidia GTX 970 GPU but I get low frames on most games I play like Battlefield 4 and Wolfenstein the New Order. The FPS will drop from 60 to 30-20 FPS the majority of the time. I have no idea what could be wrong :/.
Other specs that may matter:
550W PSU
8GB of RAM

EDIT: In action center it says fix an issue with Nvidia Graphics Driver leading me to believe there's an issue with my current installed drivers.

Best advice redownload nvidia drivers then uninstall all old drivers involving geforce and nvidia, then restart comp. After it boots reinstall nvidia drivers, restart again.

I have the current update. Something unusual though is that if I try to manually install the update by Device Manager it says downloading then tells me that I already have the current version. While trying to update another GTX 970 on a different rig it checks for the update and then without giving the Downloading bar says I already have the current version

I have Geforce Experience, I have the right driver installed. However, by testing manual update with device manager I feel like my PC is having trouble recognizing the correct driver is installed.
