Built a New Gaming PC, sound wont work

When i try to play a game like fallout 4, i get a notification that no audio devices are detected and it wont run the game. In the bottom left corner on the speaker icon, it tells me that no speakers or headphones are plugged in. But i have speakers plugged in. If i go to sound settings in the control panel, it says NVIDIA HDMI audio not plugged in. Im not sure why it says that or why it wont let me use my speakers. My speakers are jsut plugged into the audio jack

Right click the sound icon (bottom right), click Playback devices and check what device is set as default.

most mb use a realtech audio chipset make sure in the bios the audio chipset is turned on and you installed the newest drivers. in playback devices make sure realtech speakers are the default output.

the only playback devices that show up are NVIDIA HDMI output. I also right clicked and have disabled devices shown.
