Ram / Motherboard Compatibility

Hello,

I had a Christmas present of RAM today, and I seem to having issues installing / getting it to work, As my mobo is quite old i'm not sure how to check if they are compatible.

My Motherboard:

It may work at 1600 if you put it in the DDR3 slots.
Have you tried testing one ram module?

I've managed to get it to "work" by cleaning out the slots, Although the task manager says the speed is 400MHz, is there anyway to test ram speed?

and which of the slots are DDR3?

The blue ram slots are DDR3, they are keyed one way to fit a DDR3 ram module.
