Greetings Tom's community
I would love some advice as I am at the end of my rope so to speak

I am currently running An AMD Radeon twin frozr 3gd5 R7950 in crossfire with the same card.
The second card is a Standard Hd r7950

My problem is that when I run Any benchmark or game for a few min My fps drop to below 40-30 from 60.
I used gpu z and saw that my Gpu core clock drops from 880 to somewhere about 500 and stays until I restart or disable and enable crossfire.
The It guys I bought the pc from and even the gpu Manufacturer could not find anything wrong with the card.
Fan speed runs in the 90s and Temp above 80-90
But the standard 7950 never runs that hot or has Core drops and its a weaker card without cooling pipes.I would love to add some Pics but i don't know how?
It jumps from 880 to 501 and locks itself there the temp reaches 97 but the manufacturer says there is nothing wrong when they test it.
There also seems to be nothing wrong with my cpu when i test it...no overheating.
i'm sure my 800 psu is also enough.
Thanks in advance
Sorry i'm new to threads.

I believe that i wont find a fix for this problem, i really have exhausted my options...the card just won't work but the other one does.
Even did a bios flash..I will have to give up on this card..
Why would the manufacturer tell me they can't find anything wrong..

your problem is your temps are too hot

the card slows down to save itself from cooking

"It jumps from 880 to 501 and locks itself there the temp reaches 97"

yeah, it's called thermal throttling

get a better case or buy some fans

Silverstone Fortress FT02 Aluminum Gaming Case, plus about 5 fans, 3 massive ones that are beneath the cards venting hot air out..I really doubt i have a cooling problem..An interesting factor in the make-up of this machine is that the power supply has returned to its original position at the top of the case, where it acts as a part of the system’s hot air extraction, along with the Corsair water- cooling radiator and video cards –

But i do agree the card does run hot..But my standard hd 7950 with no cooling pipes never go above 75..
Thermal pasting maby?

yes if one only reaches 75 degrees then you might need to repaste the other one

Maxalge, can you search out my topic too? I am having good temperature on a r7 360 2gb ddr5 and I still have that gpu usage drops and core clock mhz drops, you can search it out there, down below the category. I really need help.

Let me write there. I am actually have a 720p resolution (1280x1024) with 4gb ram ddr3 1033, i5 2400 3.1ghz and a r7 360 2gb ddr5, 400w real power supply. I am actually having trouble with the core clock stability. My gpu it's just buyed. Maximum it's 1060 because it's the nitro oc edition. When I am in Diablo 3 for example, I have around 180 at maximum settings staying in the city. When I encounter mobs and effects my mhz scale down to 300-500-700-900, not a stable number, just it's dropped, memory clock it's fine at 1625 all time. If I try to bump up my card to 100% with the RadeonPro, a program who force your gpu to stay up to 100% all time. I assume to say the gpu usage scale down too with the core clock mhz. So, if i use this program, my gpu have 1060mhz core clock all the time but the usage scales down to 0-1% - 30-40%, again..not a stable number. When I play big games, like Crysis 3 on high system requirements, my gpu it's around 80-100% and the mhz around 950-1060%, I get around 60-100 fps. It happens in Wildstar too, Poe too. Seems to happen in cpu/ram intense games. What to do? I have a little bottleneck there?Aaand I forgot to mention about it, if I descrease the Crysis 3 at medium requirements settings my gpu seems to have the same reaction who it's in cpu/ram intense games. Yes, I know Crysis 3 it's a cpu/gpu intense game. http://
http:// In this case have 100% gpu usage but the core clock it's downscaled to 750.

install msi afterburner, and turn on cpu and gpu temp monitoring in the OSD

play a game for a while, post back your max temps

also run memtest86 to check your ram

make sure windows power options is set to high performance

Hi just an update ...I repasted my Card...It went from 96 c to 69c in benchmark and stress test...Solved all my problems.
