Can I use two individual 8gb sticks as 16gb dual channel?

I have two separate 8gb sticks of Kingston Hyper X Fury ram in my possession.

They are the exact same kit, but I bought them separately and they are meant to run in a single channel configuration.

Is there any way I can run these two sticks together in a dual-channel configuration for 16gb, or do I have to buy a whole new kit?

I tried to do this previously and my computer would not identify both sticks at once, I'm not sure if there is some kind of Bios tweak I can do or what?

Solution
There is no BIOS tweak to enable dual channel function from ram that doesn't want to play nice together. That's really what it comes down to which is why manufacturers match dual channel kits, to ensure they will play nice. Your best bet (IMO) at this point is to purchase a dual channel kit - sell the individual modules on EBay or ...
