So I'm currently searching for a fairly budget video card for my pc, the one I currently have in mind is the gtx 750 ti. The only problem is that it doesn't support my favored type of output which is VGA. My question to the community is (and I apologize for my ignorance) do all video outputs have to be coming from the graphics card? By that I mean could I have an hdmi running from the card and a VGA running from motherboard

Solution
VGA degrades over cable length so im not too sure why its your favourite but if you really need it then a cheap adapter (HDMI to VGA) should solve the problem, running all outputs direct from the GPU

VGA is bad though, it doesn't transmit the same way HDMI and DVI do and has a high response time. Any cables coming from the motherboard for graphics will run off of the integrated graphics in the cpu if it has any. To run a monitor off the graphics card you will need to plug it into the GPU
