So my issue is that I have a failing hard drive. I got a new hard drive and a external hard drive. So what I want to do is transfer all of my files to the external hard drive. Swap out the hard drives then put the external hard drive files onto the new hard drive. The only issue is that I would rather not download software to copy the hard drive and all the tutorials were with software. Must I download software to copy my current hard drive and put it on a external hard drive just to put it on a new hard drive?
