Upgraded RAM, Getting it Working with CPU?

Hi, I just upgraded my RAM, did a lot of reading to make sure everything was going to be compatible. It is, fortunately, but there is one issue.

The RAM I got is G. Skill DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 RAM, six sticks, 4 gigs a stick, CL9-9-9-24, 1.5V.

Now, the CPU I have is an Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield Quad-Core 3.06GHz LGA 1366. It is compatible with 800 and 1066 RAM. However, I have heard hearsay about being able to bypass this, perhaps by safe overclocking. However, I have tried again and again to learn how to overclock, and am completely stumped each and every time. Is there a safe way to do this so that I can get the most out of my new RAM, and it doesn't need to remain downclocked to 1066?

In short: how would I go about OCing the CPU just enough so that I can have my RAM operating at 1600, and how would I go about this?

Thanks for any and all help.
