To start off I already have an I3 6100 in my current build. I choose this CPU for the budget I was on and because of all the reviews on how good the performance actually was in things like gaming for instance.
However I'm looking to the future, and am trying to decide on the CPU that would better stand the test of time. I do game, and I know everybody "says" and I7 isn't needed for gaming NOW. But as i said before I'm thinking about down the line. I do not do much video editing, but I'm thinking on giving my hand at it possibly in the future. (mostly for silly videos recorded from games)
So my question is really, which would be better for keeping up with gaming needs in the future?
EDIT: My board is only an H170, so overclocking isn't an option.
