A few years ago I replaced the graphics card in my Dell XPS 8500 with a GTX 750 Ti. (You can find the computer here: http://www.dell.com/us/p/xps-8500/pd ) However, I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card again to a GTX 970. How should I go about doing this? I know for sure i'll be needing a better power supply than my current 460W PSU. Here are some of my questions:

- What power supply and specific card should I get? (my current PSU can barely support my GTX 750 Ti).

- Will both the GTX 970 and a new power supply fit and wire correctly inside my computer?

- Is buying a GTX 970 even a good investment? Should I just go with a GTX 960 instead?

That link unfortunately has expired so we can't see the system specifications. I google searched the 8500 but there is always that possibility that you might have altered specs. Could you please give us your full system specs including what kind of PSU you have? Thanks and Merry Christmas and God Bless! =)

Here you go, I hope I didn't forget anything. The only thing I changed was the GPU. The original was a GT 640 1GB

- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB
- Intel I-7 3770K @ 3.4GHz
- 16 GB DDR3 RAM
- 2TB Hard Drive
- Dell 460w PSU
I couldn't find the PSU model, but i'm pretty sure it's the same stock PSU as all the other 8500's

I also found this thread, but i'm not too sure how to use the information here.

Thanks for the help :)

Oh yeah, and Windows 10

Wow great system, personally I wouldn't go lower than a 970 but you do indeed have to upgrade that PSU. Is it possible to find out what kind of motherboard you have? If you can't do you have either a 20 pin power connector or a 24 pin power connector on your board?
