In my current computer I have a 250GB SSD, and 2 2TB Mechanical Drives. Is it possible to clear the hard drives while they're in my current computer so that I can repurpose them in my new build? Is it as simple as just pulling them out of the old PC with everything still on them and then installing Windows 7 over all the old data, or do I need to clear them beforehand. If they need to be cleared, how would I go about doing so?

All I've found so far is how to clear an old hard drive out, but I couldn't find any mention of what to do if the OS is on said drive.

Any help would be appreciated!

Which drive are you running the OS from ?

If you are running the OS from the SSD, then you can do anything you like to the 2 TB HD. Put all data you want to save on the 2 TB HD before moving them to the new computer if that is what you are going to do.

If you are going to take both drives out of your old computer to install into the new computer, you just need to do a clean install of the OS on the SSD once you get everything into and running on the new computer. It does not matter which drive the OS was on.
