As much as I hate budget picking it's all I can muster out of this years Christmas money. So which one? I know the age old Workstation vs Gaming, and I do both, but primarily game. Any help cracking this nutcracker open? [Other CPU suggestions very welcome]

Well, you can't get a 4690K with board for that price. The cpu costs almost that much. You can get a non overclocking i5 with an H97 board that will still perform well. I prefer the higher core performance of Intel cpu's over AMD so I recommend Intel.
