I got a difficult situation going on my acer aspire z5710

specs:
8gb ram
nvidia geforce gt240m 1g
intel i7 870
one hdd and a ssd
windows 7 x64

about a month ago my graphics card (nvidia geforce gt240m 1g) broke, i replaced it with an exactly the same model i bought second hand. after i installed the driver for the card everything was running smooth again.

one week later i bought a new ssd (samsung evo 850 250gb) to replace my old ssd (some sort of intel ssd with 80gb) because the old one was to small and i couldn't put any programs on it. i cloned my old ssd to the new ssd with a program called: MiniTool Partition Wizard Free (http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html).

after i put my new ssd in my pc i started getting random bsod.
some of the things happening:

  • -Random BSOD when using the system. Especially when watching HD content and/or gaming. The BSOD's does not have any occurrence pattern. most BSOD say:attempting to reset display driver and recover from timeout failed, but sometimes there is a bsod telling me: BAD_POOL_HEADER
-low FPS(frames per second) in games. The BCC116/1033 error can cause some serious FPS drops in games, about 40-60% decrease.
-Computer restarts when starting up. Graphics card crashes after POST and before/after Windows load.
-Screen goes black on Windows login(rare)
    -Short to long screen freezing(rare)
-after trying to fix this problem it have strange vertical stripes going over the screen
after a crash/bsod when i reboot the windows startup screen looks different, it looks a bit like this picture: https://neosmart.net/wiki/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2013/08/windows-7-boot-screen.png

sometimes after a crash the display driver is gone and i have to reinstall it.

i hope anyone can help me with this problem and i am pleased to give extra information if you need it.

Well to be sure of that, monitor your gpu tempatures with these 2 items.
Also gpu-z is just like cpu-z, I've used it in the past, surprising still works with windows 10.
However the other link I showed you in my last post, this is where your real problem relies in.
Just to be sure of that, do what I recommended and call acer early today and explain the whole problem to tier 3 technicians.
If your card worked in the past and gamed without overheating it must be a driver issue that nvidia screwed up on.
Lets start out with removing your old drivers, reboot into safemode, go into control panel.
Go to add/remove programs, click programs, uninstall programs, find the nvidia installer and uninstall all of it.
Make sure to reboot it windows as it asks you to, once your done, go start up windows 7 normally.
Visit here: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/94792 and download this and install it.
Do not install the HD audio or geforce experience feature as its not needed and useless in the long haul of your computer.

Let me know what happens.

uninstalling the driver went well but the driver from the link you mentioned couldnot find any compatible graphics hardware.
the driver i use is: 340.72-icafe-win7-winvista-win8-64bit-international-whql (http://www.driverfilesdownload.com/download/graphics/340.72-icafe-win7-winvista-win8-64bit-international-whql.exe-free-download)

i hope you can help me with this problem and i am pleased to give extra information if you need it.

this driver isn´t finding any compatible graphics hardware.
i don´t have a desktop and i also dont have a laptop, i have an all in one computer, google acer aspire z5710 and you will see. I can tell for sure there is a geforce gt240m in it because i replaced it myself some time ago.

i hope you can help me with this problem and i am pleased to give extra information if you need it.

Alright I looked more into your issue it seems like the problem is nvidia's fault.
http://community.acer.com/t5/All-In-One-PCs/Z5710-with-Nvidia-GeForce-G210m-video-card/td-p/179337
Call acer today and ask them if your all in one can use a higher end geforce chip like geforce400m.
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-gt-435m

If they so no, ask them for rma support make them offer you a new upgrade to a desktop computer.
If not sell your all in one and build your own mid atx computer.

no i dont think so, i think it might be a heat problem.
yesterday i took my graphics card out and put it back in with some new thermal paste. since yesterday i only got 1 bsod. so maybe i have the wrong thermal paste.
