High pitched noise coming from PSU

I recently build a budget oriented gaming PC. I bought the gold certified Cooler Master V550 Semi-Modular PSU. The PSU works fine, however, from the beginning, I could hear a very high pitched noise from the moment when I plugged the PSU into the wall outlet. Even when my PC isn't turned on, I can hear the high pitched noise. Sometimes when my pc is turned on, the noise stops.

It's quite frustrating because I need to disconnect the pc from the wall outlet if I don't want to get irritated by the high pitched noise.

Is this normal for a PSU? I read something about coil whine... Should I send the PSU back for RMA?

Thanks in advance!

Just went through a power supply with the same issue, it was a EVGA 750 G2. Unfortunately, the solution for my problem was that I had to exchange the unit entirely because this is an issue with the parts on the board in the power supply. Your best possibility is to go and plug it into a different outlet but that did not help me.

Here is a link to my problem, but to save you the reading: I went to the store and got another power supply that ended up being fine.

I recently send the PSU back and I'm hoping for a replacement soon. I guess it will be covered by the 5 year warranty. I also tried to plug it in another outlet, but no succes, so IMO it's a manufacturing fault.
