Does installing a backplate void a warranty?

After buying my brother a EVGA GTX 960 SSC ACX 2.0, I am also going to be buying him a backplate, but I don't know if installing it will void his warranty.

It's a small question, I know but I honestly don't know. And also, I think the "Void warranty if removed" sticker is blocking one of the screws I need to install a new backplate.

Many thanks

yes it would void it, Cause then they think you been trying to modify the PCB :(

call New Egg, they do everthing computers. :) they will tell you, they are really good withthis type of info.

But it dont matter, cause motherboards only cost around $100, so if something screws up you can get a new one :)

ohhh im so sorry i thought you meant the back plate for the CPU heatsinks.

Yes yes you end up voiding the warranty if you change the Backplate on the GPU, yep you better not do it, unless your fully satisfied.

but does the backplate screw into any other holes, cause you could just screw it into the other holes that are not covered, you dont need too many screws to hold it in place :)

so just screw it into other holes and just skip the covered holes :)

naa dont worry, just skip the coved holes. Not to worry at all, its just for looks :).

And if the GPU fails in the future, you will still have the warranty, then you can take the backplate off, and send it to the company for fixing :)

no worries at all, ive seen people skip that hole, it looks just fine :)
