Hello people.

So I just got my new CPU, an AMD FX 8350. The fan is silent when I'm not on any games, but as soon as I open up any game, for example, Black Ops 3, the fan goes sooooo loud, like extremley loud. Is there a problem with anything that's making it go this loud?

PC Specs:
AMD FX 8350
ASUS Strix GTX 960 DirectCU II OC Edition
8GB RAM
2TB HDD
Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 Motherboard

Stock coolers are typically 'just enough' for the cpu they're intended for. They do the job in that they keep the cpu cool but with no promise of doing so quietly. An aftermarket cooler would likely be your best bet since a more efficient design coupled with a larger fan in most cases will allow the cooler to handle higher temps at lower rpm's.

Water cooling is one way to go though usually isn't overly quiet either. It depends on the aio. A single radiator cooler will have to turn the rpm's of the fan up to make up for the small radiator size dissipating heat. A dual radiator/dual fan design like an h100i won't have to push the fans as hard since there's twice the surface area. Larger air coolers won't have to work as hard either and...

Larger air coolers won't have to work as hard either and are quite capable of cooling a cpu without being obnoxiously loud.

Even a larger air cooler like an nh-d14 or similar will typically cost less than an aio, cool just as well with less noise than a water cooler. If you're on a budget you may want to consider something like a 212 evo or cryorig h5 or h7.
