Simple question, which is more beneficial? Both combos arrive near the same total cost (give or take 20$ or 30$)

-i5-6600k paired with the r9 380x 4g

or

-i5-4690k paired with the gtx 970 4g

I will be OCing with either one. I understand I will be able to utilize the new ddr4 ram and socket (future upgrades) if I go with the 6600k, but I lose the performance of the 970. So which would be better?

Solution
In your scenario, the Haswell rig would be better, but since you can overclocked the locked Skylakes now with Asrock boards, you might be able to do the Skylake build and get the best of both worlds.

I haven't hear of this! How is the i5-6500 compared to the i5-4690k?
