I recently built a PC and I am trying to install Windows via USB. So I plugged in my usb and got to the Windows install screen put my code in and an error came up. "The product key entered does not match any of the windows images available for installation. Enter a different product key" what does this mean and what do I do.

You didn't give enough information... but I MIGHT be able to help you.

I once received a similar error on Windows 7. I had a copy of Windows 7 Home UPGRADE VERSION... and I think I might have bought a new Hard Drive or SSD.. or something like that..

During the install... IF you have the UPGRADE version of Windows it will search and detect a previous install of Windows. If it finds it, the FLAG is set to yes, you have a previous and you can use the UPGRADE VERSION.. If no previous version of Windows is found, then the flag is set to no.. SO.... if you try to use a serial from the upgrade version of Windows it will be rejected.. only the full version serial would activate the copy.

If that is your problem... then all you need to do is install a previous version of Windows first... then start the install with your current version and delete the partition with the old one you temporarily installed...

Ok, it sounds like you purchased an Upgrade version (that requires a previous version of Windows to install properly), not a full version. Can you look at the box and confirm this?

Also, are you actually trying to install some version of Windows 8?
