I'm not really interested in overclocking my cpu but with the price difference (like £20) between the non k and k and the 3.6 against 4ghz i thought i might aswell just get the clockable version. I've been trying to find which motherboard would be best for this but keep getting contrasting opinion and if i should be getting a clockable one or not, and preferably would want it to be under 105 pounds. Its my first build so any help is appreciated...

Thanks :)

It's difficult to choose between them. Both have 4 true phases (for overclocking), the Z97X Killer has better audio whilst the Z97-A has Intel LAN Ethernet port, which is preferred over the E2200 LAN.

Well, he's not going to be using an LGA1150 CPU in a LGA1151 mobo anytime soon...

@ThatVietGuy I didn't notice ''i7-4790k'' in the thread title. After I opened it I only read his post. Perhaps you can refer me to re-read the topic title instead of confusing me even more. At first I didn't even understand your post.

Z97 is the one with more features and the ability to overclock @islalr. I would definitely take the ability to OC into your system ''just in case''. i7-4790k + Z97X Killer is a strong one.
