(I honestly do not know what to call this thread... XD)
Anyway, so I have a friend that asked me if he gets a new modem, would it increase his download speed.
His current download speed is around 6mbps and that is the max, according to his ISP.
If he were to get a new modem, would he be able to get a much higher download speed than the ISP provides? Since he is at his max according to the ISP, would he be able to take advantage of more download speed and all that that the new modem provides?

EDIT: As I forgot to mention... His ISP is CenturyLink.
