I have recently built a new gaming computer and have a fx 6300 with a cryorig H7. Ive noticed that when i have a few windows up and i start to download my steam games the temperature kicks up to 50 degrees Celsius. The temperature is usually at 35-45 when i play games but it keeps going to 50 when i am semi-idle. Does anyone know a reason why that could happen. My GPU runs at 40 degrees when light gaming, and reached around 70 when under full load, but that's the only source of heat from my system. i have 3 chassis fans around my system too.

Edit: Also i recall placing a good amount of thermal paste that covered the entire CPU, but i don't know if that was the problem. (it was so much to where it had excess paste that i had to clean up.

Solution
Sounds like perfectly normal temps .
50 is nothing to worry about .
35 is a about right for idle

but when its at 50 check in task manager to see what is using cpu cycles and how much load it is under .

Remember too that lots of third party programs do not report AMD temps correctly

70c under load is not normal.

Yes it probably is . The mb's temp target is usually set at 65C . There will be some overshoot

i just had my room mate run aida64 stress test on his 6300 @4.0ghz with a hyper 212 evo and according to his mobo and core temp the max temp was 39c but i would take this with a grain of salt some cpu just run hotter, it's all about the silicon lottery

That's because the hyper 212 evo is significantly better than the stock cooler.

Whoops, sorry, didn't see that. the cryorig H7 is actually a better cooler than the 212. Yup, it's a thermal paste problem.

I'm sorry that I haven't replied and thankful for your help, but when i use am playing games the CPU is at around 35c to 40c. For some reason it is high when i am doing nothing, and constantly jumps to around 4100Mhz. Also would AMD overdrive be considered a third party, and is there a better program to monitor my CPU?

Edit: I also found out that my graphics card was getting hot because the fans were set to turn on at around 40c-50c by default, so i changed the settings and the highest I've seen is 51c.
