seems like there are a lot of questions like this out there, but none that have any real solutions.

I just did a clean OS install (Windows 10) on my new SSD (Samsung 850 EVO) and now when i plug my old HDD back in it is only sort-of detected. I can find it in the BIOS, but it is not in my "bootable" drives queue (where i can switch boot order). In the advanced settings I can see it in the SATA options and Hard Drive BBS thing. But once I leave bios, log in, and go to Disk Management, it is nowhere to be found.

Any thoughts, tips, tricks, or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You cannot read 2 bootable drives with OS installed at the same time as the will conflict with eachother, you have to remove the OS from your HDD and then put the files back on it. (if you have more questions or would like me to walk you through this please PM me

Thank you, I did get it figured out about 15 minutes after posting. My goal was to boot up with the SSD and format the HDD. which i was able to do after disabling the HDD as bootable media. But thank you for explaining why it wasnt detecting :)

how did you remove the hdd drive from the boot media? i will be doing this in 2 days with the same ssd, others told me to unplug my hdd and install win 10 to the ssd but then what? if i plug back the hdd itll still have the OS onto it id need to go in win 10 on my ssd to reformat that drive so how did you take it off the start from choosing it to boot?
