I am thinking of overclocking my APU and was wounding if it would be safe to do so

I am using the the Gigabyte Easy tune program which just dose what you would so on the bios but it dose it for you. the APU is is on 3.90 GHz (Default)

Gigabyte give me three options
Light: 3.90 GHz
medium: 4.00 GHz
Extreme: 4.10 GHz
Auto tune is Not supported supported

You can advance OC which asks for............
Frequency

  • Host BCLK

I've had a cheap fm2 motherboard and I was able to overclock this same apu in the bios with ease. Also I should mention that the temp of the apu will be high so make sure you add some new Thermal Paste onto the APU and whip it clean off the Heat sink. Also it would never hurt to buy a after market Heat sink because the stock coolers aren't really overclocking suitable. But you should be fine!

Without a heatsink that's any good then no don't try it but get some frost on that baby to support it then yeah. But with a stock heatsink I only advise getting it to that medium mark just to play it safe bro.
