Buying a router and a modem for gaming.. need some help!

I play PS4 and some PC games wired and want to stop using this 2-in-1 Xfinity Default Router/ Modem. I am looking to buy a router and a modem if needed to improve my speed mainly on PS4.

Here is the speedtest on PC: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4946850172

When I test connection on PS4 it says:
32.5 Download
3.9 Upload

Why is it so limited on my PS4? Is it because of my modem/ router? Any help is greatly appreciated. Price range of under $300 for both would be nice.

If your pc works fine but it is only the PS4 then it is not a issue with the router/modem. Try to use the same ethernet cable that you use on the PC there it not a lot left else you can test. A PS4 is very limited in what you can do.

It really shouldn't matter for playing games. It may add a couple hours to a huge game download but how often do you really do that.

125 Download 25 Upload and that is what I get on PC but on PS4 I don't even get past 50 download on the test?

BTW I am hardwired... is there a way to give my PS4 priority or something along those lines? I am paying for this good internet mostly for the PS4 and getting less than half my speed it sucks!

If I buy the Netgear Nighthawk Router and a new Netgear Modem do you think this would help?
