Does anyone know if ASUS has dual bios on their motherboard?

it may not be a bad motherboard. people have found out that intel skylake are thinner then haswell and larger heat sinks can cause errors. also a lot of the vendors sent the mb out with missing cpu and ram code. pull the gpu if your mb has onboard video port or try and older video card. and one ram stick. on the mb check to see if the power good led is on or blinking if it blinking then you may have bad power or a dead short.

I use a stock TS15A cooler which is certified to work on LGA 1151. Yeah, I tried to clean CMOS by pulling out the battery for 1 minute, used on-board video and with one ram stick. It still does it. The Dual BIOS feature isn't working to restore the original bios since I updated the BIOS and it said it had been verified that it had been flashed successfully. So now basically I have a paperweight in my hands. Never going to buy Gigabyte again. My Z77 from before never had this issue so I'm not sure what Gigabyte has screwed up for Skylake.

try this go to gigbyte web page download the right bios for your mb. some mb have more then one rev so make sure you have the right bios file. unzip the files and put the bios file on a usb stick and put it in a usb 2.0 port. if the bios is not dead dead you may be able to recover it. bios failure happen if you use the windows updater..the anti virus hangs the bios updater sometime causing bricking.

I got the F5 BIOS for GA-Z170-HD3 (rev 1.0) and it was the correct one. I flashed it in DOS from a bootable USB and efiflash verified that it had been flashed successfully. It might have been a glitch in efiflash. I tried to force the backup BIOS and it seems to not work so I don't know what to do now.

I tried it and it doesn't seem to work. I'm going to RMA for corrupt BIOS and for Dual BIOS not working to recover the system since I originally bought it for the Dual BIOS feature. :sarcastic:
