I am going to build a gaming pc without a wireless network card because I am going to connect my desktop via ethernet to my router. the printer I am using is connected to my router via wifi, the only ports it has are 2 fax ports and a usb type b port. Do i need to connect my desktop to the printer with a usb type a to b cable in order to print or will i be able to print from my desktop without the usb cable since they are both will be connected to my router, my desktop via ethernet and my printer via wifi?

Solution
No dedicated USB connection needed.

It's very simple. Both ethernet and WIFI are on the same LAN. Go ahead, open a DOS prompt and PING (are you there?) the IP of your printer.

I haven't built my desktop yet, I wanted to find out so when I do build it in a few days I'll know how to connect it to the printer, what if the desktop is connected via ethernet directly to the modem and the printer via wifi to the router, would that still work since they are on the same LAN?
