My case is an nzxt h440, im running a i3-6100. A friend offered to sell me a h55 for $30, although i dont need it for an i3, I still think it might be worth it because its quiet, has better performance, and would give me opportunities for overclocking in the future with other processors. Anyway, what would the best mounting option be for the 120mm radiator? I would rather do it on the top, but if so, which side would the fan go on, and which way would it be blowing? Also, what fans should i purchase for this cooler? i would want ones to match my current nzxt fans.

Let's approach it this way. The rule of thumb (per the idea that hot air rises) is intake on the bottom and front, and exhaust on top and in the back. So either mount it on the top or the rear. You like the idea of a top mounted radiator, and I'll tell you what: I like your thinking. I myself have a water cooling solution and I have it mounted up on top. Obviously you want it as exhaust; who would want to fan the hot air back in their case?? The way I do it is to have the fans push rather than pull. Meaning the radiator is stuck on the tower right at the top, then the fans are stuck under it and blowing air straight up through it. One thing you could do is pop another fan on the other side to help pull the air that the first fan is already pushing. This same approach would work mounted to your tower's 120mm spot on the back - honestly, just mount it wherever has the tubes the most comfortable. Hope I helped!
