CPU // AMD FX-8350
GPU // 4G GTX 960 Gainward Phantom
Motherboard // M5A97-R2
RAM // 4x4 GB DDR3 2400
PSU // Thermaltake Smart Power 550Watt

First of all,
Is the PSU sufficient?
Would a different branded 960 be better?
Does the motherboard fit DDR3?
And anything else I might be missing or would be a better alternative.

Honorable
Intel i5 system.
if theres only $15-20 price diff id go with a better brand of 960 like MSI, gigabyte, evga or asus. Though if you need any extra $ to get you that i5 system then no, stay with it.

e.g. 1 stick of crucial 8gb ram. you can always add another 16gb stick later on. speed makes 0 diff. crucial is the most reliable brand and thankfully one of the cheapest. kingston crucial or coraisr ok . avoid gskill

have a look through the stickied PSU tier list at top of the forums and see if you can get a better tier 550w for around the same price.
