my computer won't power on...i don't know where to put my problem but i hope i can be helped anyway... i have a lenovo k450e ..a week ago we lost power and when the lights came back on my comuter wouldn't turn on.. i went out and bought a new power supply,,, christmas day i shut it down,, then unplugged it because i wouldnt be home.. when i returned... plugged everything in and it won't turn on... again... i went and exchanged the power supply for another one..brought it home.. same thing.. too it back but this time i took my computer with me to the store.. did the exchange and installed the brand new power supply at the store.. and plugged it in there... the computer started right up so i thought i was good to go now but as soon as i got it home.. it wouldn't turn on.. i bought a new surge protector while i was at the store so when i got home i plugged the new surge protector in first... turned the power supply off then plugged in the power cord to it.... then turned the ps back on.. nothing.. every time this happened i did the paper clip test.. every time the hd comes on.. the ps fan comes on... and i can opn the dvd rom drive door.. but no lights.. no fans.. not even the mouse show any signs of life... any ideas???? my assumption is that since the computer started up correctly at hte store... the mb must be ok... so im at a loss... i'm game for any answer you all can offer

at the store everything came on and booted up perfectly.. i was practically ecstatic about it and thought my problem was solved.. i mean in my experience everything i'm going through tells me it's the power supply but since it just started and 3 in a week... i have to look to my experienced people for what i may be overlooking or just didnt' know about

from a tech point pick up a post it card see if the mb is posting or hanging. if the stock power supply failed with a pop it could damaged the mb if not look at your mb see if there any swelled caps. have the local store with a volt meter check the power good line on the mb and power supply. if the pc is just out of warranty see if the vendor will do a one time repair,

one thing also to try before you go back to the store is bear bone your pc. pull out the gpu if your mb has onboard video and one ram stick see if the mb will post with onboard video. if nothing happens try unplugging case fans to see if one of them is shorting out the mb.

i'm going to try your suggestion but on what you said about the ps popping, it didn't actually.. which i've never had one die without a pop but there wasn't a pop on any of them and no smell of burnt electical anything either.. i don't know if that matters or makes a difference
