Hi I own an old ASRock ALiveNF6P-VSTA motherboard( http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/ALiveNF6P-VSTA/ ) and I found an radeon hd 5850 second hand at a very good price , but I want to know if this video card will work on my motherboard. The motherboard have a PCI-e x16 but I don't know fi this slot support PCI-e x16 2.0.

Thanks in advance.

PCI-e is backwards compatible.

Please remember that if you have an older BIOS then the card may be incompatible and that you may need to update the bios or get a new mobo with the same BIOS as the gpu, please look into this because this can really screw you over like it is and still is with me.

I don't know much about motherboards but that card may or may not work with that motherboard at all...

I don't know much about motherboards but that card may or may not work with that motherboard at all because of the chipsets and the BIOS of your system which may be legacy, however new cards run of UEFI which is more advanced and better in general than legacy.
