I have a Corsair CX500W power supply, which has two (6+2) pin connectors which are currently plugged into my R9 270X. I have the two 6 pin connectors plugged in with the extra 2 pins on each hanging off to the side. If I buy a GTX 970 which requires an 8 pin connector, would I be able to plug the 6 pin connector and its little 2 pin extra connector into the 970 to fill all 8 pin holes on it? Would it function the same as an 8 pin connector? Would that be safe? And would it supply it with 150W of power and not 75W?
Sorry if this was hard to understand.
Thanks!
