Keep my ZxR or return for something else?

I got the Soundblaster ZxR for Christmas and I'm kind of torn on whether to keep it or not. Reading through reviews on Amazon it seems like people were either very happy with it or very dissatisfied. I read about the external device being mostly useless and about computers sometimes randomly not recognizing the device.

My use is for music/games and will primarily be using it through my Sennheiser 598s.

Thoughts/suggestions?

That would be correct in light of using Windows 10 as your OS with the aforementioned sound card. If you were a Realtek user on Microsoft's Windows 10 platform you'd be a frustrated user as the seemingly new OS has apparently been wreaking havoc across the community with its half baked internal fits. Most often systems with Realtek device's have been rendered inoperable.

If anything you could try return it and pick up a HT|Omega, Xonar, Strix sound card for the same amount and gain more functionality. Do note, what sort of a system are you looking to pair it with? We've already gathered that you're looking at stereo headphones. If you have an ALC1150 onboard solution you should be fine.
