Ok, so I recently built my first ever PC, (nothing was shocked, I used an anti-static wrist strap.)
I hooked it up to my new monitor and when I turned it on, the POST speaker made 1 beep about every 5 seconds. I looked it up and it turns out that is is all ok! But then it doesn't show signal. I only have 1 VGA and 1 dvi port on my monitor, no HDMI. I'm using the "dedicated" VGA port on my motherboard. I don't have a DVI cable, and I don't want to buy a new motherboard (and CPU if that's the case).

Please help ASAP, my dad is kinda mad that it doesn't work.

This works! Maybe a faulty GPU. Thanks for your input, I might have the GPU RMA'd.

Ahhhhh, that's why. I have a DVI cable around at home. Thanks man, been trying to find the solution for hours.

With it installed, it still makes the 1-beep, and should display.
