How do I upgrade my graphics card from a Intel HD 4400

HP Pavilion Desktop - 550-172

Specs: OS- Windows 10 64-bit

processor- Intel Core i3-4170 @3.7GHz 3.7GHz

ram- 8.00GB

motherboard- (Not sure how to find the title)

Graphics: Intel HD 4400

I can give more information that might be needed just let me know how to get it below. If no more is needed, which card / cards should I look into?

The good news is your motherboard supports "1 PCI Express x16 (Gen 3.0)" which is what you put your graphics card into.
The bad news is you have a "180 W uATX aPFC internal power supply." Now unfortunately that's not enough wattage to run a dedicated graphics card, I'd recommend upgrading to at least 450W. Bear in mind you can't buy any old PSU. Because this system is pre-built and it uses an uATX form factor I'd recommend contacting HP and enquiring about the possibility of upgrading it.
