Hey guys! I've looked around for a solution and havent found one that works yet, so hopefully someone can help me out.

I installed an SSD today, and while I was at it I decided to clean the dust off my CPU cooler heatsink (Hyper 212 Evo). After cleaning off both the heatsing and cpu (getting the thermal compound off with isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs) I applied new thermal compound and plugged everything in.

The computer won't start now. When I press the power button the fans spin for half a second, then stop. I've already done the paperclip test and my PSU is not the issue. I've tried unplugging the SSD sata and going with what I had before, with no luck. I also unplugged and replugged the 8-pin and 24-pin connectors.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated! Let me know if you neef specific part info. The PSU is a CX600M, AMD FX 6300 CPU.

There is no need to take the heatsink off and re-install the heatsink for cleaning the inside of a computer - a can of compressed air is sufficient.

Something got loose when you took the heatsink off; probably the heatsink fan connector.

Disconnect the computer from the wall outlet. Check all connectors and then turn ON the computer.
