Sure is. I have an i5 6500 in my HTPC. In my small Mini-ITX chassis(FT03-Mini), idle temps are around 22C and it's crammed in there w/ a GTX 670. Load temps aren't going to be higher than the 60C range max I'd imagine, unless you plan on OCing w/ the newer UEFIs some manufacturers are providing to overclock non "k series" CPUs.

Yeah, the stock cooler is good. If you are going to be playing new games which require a lot of cpu power, get a liquid cooler by coolermaster. I will build a pc with skylake cpu and the nepton 240m liquid cooler. Remember you cant overclock the models without a k

@TechGuruGames I'm pretty sure you can OC non-k's. You just need the right kind of mobo, or something.
