Hello everyone, hope you all had a great Christmas and a happy new year to all!

I'm looking to build my first gaming rig for around £520. I aim to play games such as: GTA, CoD, BF4, F1 2015 and Project Cars at the best settings possible as well as doing light school work and the usual 'web-surfing'.

I wanted to know everyone's opinions on the build, and see if anyone had any recommendations for any better parts or a better build all together as any response will help me along my way to building my first gaming rig.

(Note: I have already bought a PSU for a discounted price):

Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Here is my compiled part list:

Okay, I'll give you my opinion.

It's a good build IF you're on a budget. I mean, with the current generation of gaming I would recommend ATLEAST a Quad-Core, but if your budget is tight It's alright. I should also mention that you should change your motherboard to a Z170, this will enable you to overclock your CPU to match that of a i5 if it falls behind due to its dual cores.

ALSO, you NEED to add a CPU cooler, because the Skylake CPU's don;t include a CPU cooler, so It'll get pretty toasty if you do not get one. ( Cheap & Reliable CM 212 EVO ) :D Lastly, i would recommend switching the HDD with a more reliable brand such as Western Digital.

I think you might be a little better off with a quad core for the more CPU dependent games you want to play, but it's a tough call, because of the higher clock of the i3 6100.

Specifically, you'll need an Asrock Z170 to overclock locked Skylakes.

Nothing wrong with a Seagate drive. Its not like its a Hitachi HDD. I would rather go with a Devil's Canyon chip and board. Its cheaper than Skylake and still worth the investment even though its an older chip.

Thank you all, for your speedy responses! Would it be better to go with a Haswell i5 core as opposed to a Skylake i3 ? If so, would this be a better suited build ?
