Im looking at all these benchmarks were people are getting 60+ fps on the r9 270x on ultra/high in star wars battlefront, and i have an r9 270 overclocked to 1000 mhz base and 1400 memory clock, and im getting 40 fps on low. The game is not enjoyable to play at all. Whats wrong? Would an R9 280x be a worthy upgrade?

r9 270 runs battlefront at 40fps on low?

I too have a r9 270x but can play Battlefront on ultra at 60fps. I know earlier I had troubles with the shadows on Skyrim, so perhaps try lowering just the shadow setting and see if you can run at 60 fps. I don't think an upgrade in necessary however.
